Creative storytelling is at the centre of Huni’s work. She loves dreaming up new worlds with graphics, experimenting with software to find unique ways to tell stories, working with others in the creative process, sharing her skills, and learning new ones.
Her creative practice spans many different disciplines including art, illustration, video, animation, writing and teaching. Huni has over fifteen years of experience in digital content creation, as well as tertiary qualifications in Art Teaching, and a Masters of Film and Television majoring in Animation. Her projects have won awards and screened in Australia and internationally.
Huni’s nickname comes from Tanzania where she was born, it means ‘baby of the rain season’. Huni’s given name is Melissa. She lives in tropical Darwin, in the north of Australia with her husband and a dog called Rufus.
